History of Valentine day

Today I am going to write history of Valentine day. The history of Valentine day is changing very fast. I will document how it has changed over time.

First time I heard about Valentine Day was in 1995. It was time when Valentine day was promoted on large scale in India. TV shows and newspapers were promoting Valentine Day. Times of India published a special supplement of 50 pages to print message of lovers free of cost. That time TV shows and newspaper were saying that history behind valentine day is that once upon a time there was a princess who loved a prince and she was not able to tell him. She told it to her servant Valentine and he suggested her to make a nice card for the prince and write her message in that card. The princess made a card for prince and gave it to him on 14th February. From that date culture of Valentine day started and this day was named after the servant who gave brilliant idea of card.

In 2005 the idea of Saint Valentine was born. The new story says that there was a Christian saint called Valentine and he invented marriage of a man and woman and this day is named after that great saint. Till 2010 wikipedia was saying that there was no historical person called saint Valentine but now in 2016 wikipedia also says that there was saint Valentine and he invented marriage of man and women and this concept was later on adopted by all other civilizations. It looks like that man didn't used to get married to woman. Looks improbable to me because as per my knowledge, in India man used to get married to a women from time immemorial.

Now a day (in 2016) Valentine Day is a big celebration. Boys and girls give card to each other on 14th February. They go out to restaurants and pubs after that drink and dine and do all sorts of immoral things on this day.  This love last till breakup day celebrated on 21st February. On 21st February these new love birds tell each other that it is not working out and start searching for another person. Why this celebration for a love which last only for 7 days?

In India we believe in life long relationship. Not only life long, but a seven life relationship. Love is a commitment for a life time which needs to be honored for whole life. It should not be like you fall in love for most beautiful boy or girl and whenever you see a more beautiful girl or boy you ditch your previous lover and fall in love with a new person. This materialistic attitude can't build a happy society. There are many ups and downs in life of a person. Health, beauty and wealth of a person do not remain constant for whole life. In India if a person loses his health or wealth than his/her partner supports him and not ditch him and find another partner to satisfy their physical need. This kind of culture has led to many suicides and people getting in depression in western countries. Once a person loses his job he loses his wife also. He is left alone without money and family and in this situation many persons commit suicide.

We are emulating west without realizing what we are losing. We don't see the problem west is facing. In west people are talking about loss of family values, every second person is divorced there. If a person fall sick then nobody takes care of him. In India we take care of our parents, husband, wife and children. We need to make sacrifice of our pleasure for that but in return we get an insurance that my family will take care of me if I lose my health and wealth. I don't want materialistic culture of west destroying social values of Indian culture. It takes thousands of years to build a culture of helping each other. It can get destroyed in 10 years or so but can't be restored back in 10 years. It will take thousands of years. It is better to be safe than sorry.

Management quota in education

The Delhi high court has restored management quota for nursery admission in Delhi private schools. This decision is opposite of Supreme courts stand that their should be no reservation in education because it allow incompetent people to grow and actual talent starved. Court observed that parliamentarian should raise above vote bank politics and scrap quota for weaker sections in education and jobs to let meritocracy grow. Because reservation is holding back real talent and is reason of India's backwardness.

On other hand court don't find anything wrong in seats in education institutions and government department being reserved for relatives of management committee and children of employees of government department. People who keep posting on facebook and twitter against reservation for backward casts suddenly become silent on issue of reservation for relatives of management committee. I see clear bias in mind of people opposing reservation in favor of rich people. Critiques of reservation don’t want anyone to speak about reservation for children of affluent class in terms of management quota and discretionary powers. Reservation for relatives of management committee is even more harmful than reservation for affluent people because it produces a class of engineers and doctors who are incompetent and nation have to bear with them. These people are incompetent despite having all resources with them.

The critiques of reservation for backward castes blame all backwardness of India to reservation system and keep silent about management quota. These people want reservation for affluent class to continue bust quota for backward classes to stop. These people are from affluent class and want all good things to be reserved for them.

The court's argument about autonomy being granted to people who make investment at their own personal risk is faulty. Schools are allowed to decide their fee to recover their investments. Court can grant autonomy in deciding fee for school but not right to discriminate between students. There are many other fields where people make investment on their personal risk like insurance companies, telecom companies, hotels, restaurants etc. Can we allow them to discriminate between people just because they made investment on their own risk? If we allow so then we may see hotels allowing guests only from upper caste, restaurants refusing to serve people of certain religion or caste. If someone starts a business then he/she have to abide by laws of land and must be prohibited from doing any sort of discrimination. Fee charged for the services should be only criteria and no other criteria should be allowed in providing the services.

I see this decision to be a clear case of judicial corruption and against spirit of our constitution.

Management quota for nursery restored

NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court on Thursday restored the management quota and 11 criteria for nursery admission in the Capital’s private unaided schools abolished by the Aam Aadmi Party government. The court asked the government to take action against malpractices such as sale of seats.

In an interim order, justice Manmohan stayed a January 6 circular of the Arvind Kejriwal led government that scrapped 62 admission criteria, including the management quota under which schools could use their discretion to award seats.

After this order, apart from the management quota, private unaided schools will be able to admit students on 11 criteria under a points system such as first born, adopted child, twins, parents with proficiency in music, sports, national awardee, etc.

“Promoters of a school who make investment at their own personal risk are entitled to full autonomy in administration including the right to admit students,” justice Manmohan said.

“Prima facie, the impugned (January 6) order has been issued without any authority and is in direct conflict with the order of 2007 issued by the lieutenant governor (which permitted management quota up to 20%).”

Hours after the verdict, the government said an appeal will be filed while schools welcomed it.

A private schools’ association said its “autonomy” was upheld and the decision was timely enough to not disturb the nursery admission schedule.

“Facilitating good education for students in Delhi is the responsibility of the government. We will appeal against the HC order,” deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, who holds the education portfolio, tweeted.

Earlier, Kejriwal had termed management quota a scam and a way to “loot people” while defending the government’s decision to scrap it along with 61 criteria that according to it were “unfair, unreasonable and non-transparent”.

The court declined to consider an argument that “schools have no discretion in admission because of a covenant in the lease deed”, saying it would be considered at a later stage.

26 years after Kashmiri Pandit Holocaust

On 19th January 2016, 26 years has passed since Kashmiri Pandit Holocaust. This Holocaust occurred on 19th January 1990. It was 2 years before Babri Masjid demolition so it could not be called revenge of Babri Masjid demolition. Hindus reacted to this holocaust by demolition of a building and not by killing Muslims; still Hindus are blamed for raising intolerance. The Babri Masjid was constructed by demolishing a Hindu temple and was lying unused. Hindus did nothing wrong by demolishing Babri Masjid. It is very mild reaction to merciless killing of Hindus in Kashmir.

I see every act of terrorism in India being linked to Babri Masjid demolition and it is claimed that if Babri Masjid had not be demolished the acts of terror would have not existed. But what about killing of innocent Kashmiri Hindus? Act of terrorism are originated because of hatred of Muslims toward Hindus and not because of Babri Masjid demolition. These act of terrorism need to be dealt strongly by use of power, because that is the only way to deal with it. USA has followed this policy and is successful in protecting their country. We on other way are submissive toward terrorism and that is way we are suffering. It is not about religion but about money and land. Pakistan doesn’t want Muslims of Kashmir or India but want land of India. We need to realize that being submissive don't buy piece but gradual loss of whole land. Hindus need to be firm and support fellow Hindus against whom atrocities are done. If we fail to do that then we will be alone when these people come after us.

True face of Christian benevolence

Recently I found a story of horrific torture of children in Christian shelter home. These shelter homes project as if they are doing a great social work and ask Hindu people to donate money to them. They claim that they are providing food, shelter and education to poor children. But in truth they are misusing donation money, torturing children and forcing them to learn Bible instead of providing any useful education. Any Hindu should not give even a single rupee to such organization.

Same thing is done by Christian schools in India. These schools teach Bible as part of curriculum. They criticize Hindu god and goddesses. Children are given an impression that Christianity is the only way to reach God. I would like to tell an incidence which I came to know from one of my colleague. His nice was going to a high end Christian school in Delhi. One day driver of the bus stopped bus on the road saying that engine has failed. He asked children to pay to Bhagwan Ram to make the bus run. Children prayed and bus did not start. He asked children to pray to Waheguru Ji to start the bus and bus did not start. After that he is asked to pay to Jesus for starting the bus and bus started after that. These kinds of tricks are played on young minds. My Colleague was hurt by this and they complained to school about this but no action was taken against the driver. They could not even take out the child out of the school because they could not find any other suitable school.

I have decided that I will not send my children to any Christian school even if it is cheaper and provide good academic records. I am happy if I end up spending few thousands extra and my child get few less marks. But I am not ready to compromise on my religious belief.

Kids hung from ceiling, beaten for not reciting Bible in Noida shelter homes

IndiaToday.in New Delhi, January 8, 2016 | UPDATED 14:03 IST

Atleast 30 children were rescued by police during raids conducted in two shelter homes in Greater Noida and Meerut last month. The children belonging to poor families alleged that they were forcibly converted to Christianity by their caretakers.

The development came after a mother of a nine-year-old boy informed a children's helpline about the on-going atrocities in the shelter homes run by the Emmanuel Seva Group.
According to Hindustan Times, these children were 'hung by the wrists from a ceiling fan, starved for days and beaten mercilessly for failing to recite Bible passages'.
Describing their ordeal, the children said that they were restricted to the home for three years and were served cockroach-infested food. Forced to live in poor conditions, the children described their stay as a 'jail term'.

"I was allowed to meet my parents once a month for only 15 minutes. The only thing I was taught was the Bible. They forced me to memorise its passages," said the nine-year-old boy.
"They gave us good clothes whenever visitors came. They made us stand in line and recite Bible passages. Faltering meant a beating with sticks and belts later. Once the guests left, the shelter in-charge snatched away our clothes, sweets and gifts and we were back in rags again," he added.

The boy's older sister added that the children were forced to sleep on a dirty floor strewn with rodent droppings.

"They never allowed us to step outside. We were not given food for three days at a stretch if we forgot a Bible passage," the report quoted her, as saying.
The complainant said that Josua Devraj, whom she met at a Delhi hospital, offered to raise her children and promised to make them IAS officers.
"He forced us to circulate pamphlets and copies of the Bible in public places but never paid us," she said.

Following the complaint, the children were rescued on December 29 after police raided both the homes.

"The victim's mother had approached us on December 28. We contacted the police and conducted a raid at Naya Haibatpur village in Bisrakh area. It was found that a shelter home with the name of Emanuel Sewa Group was operating illegally. Seven children were kept there in squalid and untidy condition. The children were also found to be malnourished. A subsequent raid was conducted at the shelter home of the same organisation in Meerut from where 23 children were rescued," said Satyaprakash, programme manager, FXB Suraksha NGO.
The mother alleged that, after the children were rescued, the shelter's employees threatened to take her children back.

"They pelted stones at our house and beat us up with batons. They fled when the neighbours gathered," she said.

"A case was registered at the Bisrakh police station. We are investigating whether the organisation had permission to run a shelter home. Three persons, including the caretaker of the shelter home, have been detained and are being questioned. We are investigating the claims of the rescued children," said Ashwani Kumar, in charge, Bisrakh police station.
Accused Joshua Devraj refused to comment on the issue.

"Yes, raids were conducted but I cant tell you much about it. I will comment on this issue later," he said.

Delhi scraps management quota in Nursery admissions

Today Delhi government has scrapped management quota in nursery admissions. Schools are saying that it is contempt of court because court have uphold management quota previously. I would like to say that if management of the school wants to make money than they can increase fee to students why they want to sell seats in black market in return of bribe. This quota is more harmful for country then social responsibility quota for SC/ST. In case of quota seats are reserved for weaker section and it is said that it is leading to starvation for meritocracy. Incompetent people are moving forward and general category people are held back. But how comes reservation for forward and rich people be allowed? How come reservation for poor is bad and reservation for rich people good? Management seats are distributed to relatives of management people. The remaining seats are sold for a bribe. This problem is not only there in Nursery admissions but in collages also. This quota for rich people must be stopped before quota for poor people is stopped.

Delhi scraps management quota in Nursery admissions

The Hindu Updated: January 7, 2016 02:05 IST

Arvind Kejriwal calls it the "biggest scandal" in the education sector

In a move that will benefit a large number of people struggling with the nursery admission of their children, the Delhi government has scrapped management quota and all other quotas except for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS).

Announcing the decision on Wednesday, the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal referred to management quota as the “biggest scandal” in education sector in the country. He said that the government would not be a mute spectator to it and the schools that failed to scrap the quota could be taken over by the education department.

“Management quota is the biggest scandal in the country which the Delhi Government is scrapping. 75 per cent admissions in the private schools will be under open category. Other than EWS category, there will be no other quota,” he added.

Warning schools of stringent action in case of violations, he said the government would use all available options against erring institutions, including takeover.

Private schools in Delhi have quotas for management, siblings, alumni and many others.

In a similar move, the government has also asked schools to scrap “discriminatory” criterion for admission. They have given a list of 62 such criterion to the schools including parents being vegetarians, non-smokers, government employees and other similar criterion.

The move to scrap all the arbitrary quotas has come as a big relief to parents. However schools have a mixed reaction to it, while some schools say that they will abide by the government orders, some hailed it as “snatching the autonomy.”

AAP’s move to fix age limit for entry-level education

Delhi government have fixed maximum age of admission to entry level class for education. This move is challenged in court. I would like to discuss about it in this post.

The DoE’s circular fixed the upper age limit for admission in entry-level classes at four years for pre-school, five years for pre-primary and six years for Class I as on March 31 of the year in which admission is being sought.

Schools are forcing child to study three years before reaching class 1st. This rule is to make sure that schools don't force children to study for unnecessary years and become over 7 years before reaching class 1st. If a child is 5 years then he should be admitted to class 1st and not to pre-school. It is double edge sword which is hitting child's right to education. Schools need to be stopped from forcing children to study 3 year in their school before reaching class 1st. Admission in class 1st should be based on age and not on basis of how many years child has studied before applying for class 1st.

Schools want to make more money and by teaching a student for 12 years are not generating well enough money so schools introduced one year before class 1st. 13 years of schooling was also not good enough so schools introduced another year before first class. Since children are too small to go to school this thing could not work out unless entry age of first class is raised. So schools raised age requirement for class 1st. Schools want to teach student for 15 years, 3 years before class first and 12 year for class 1st to 12th. If a child starts schooling below 4 years then he will be below 7 by the time he/she reaches class 1st. So schools want maximum age for class first raised to 7 years. By the time a student pass out of class 12th he/she will be 19 years. This age used to be 16 and half year when I used to study in a government school.

Government needs to control schools and not let them exploit parent and student for generating more money. 1st class is called first because it is start of schooling and 12 years of schooling is sufficient to go to college. Children don't need to spend 15 years in school before reaching to collage.

Pathankot airbase attack

Pathankot airbase was attacked on Sunday early morning by six Pakistan trained terrorists. Seven army people have died protecting the nation. I am deeply hurt when we hear people saying that it was their job to die for protecting tax payers because they are being paid to die. Life of these brave brothers of mine is as precious as life of PM Narender Modi. These brave brothers are provided salary for protecting me and just because I as a tax payer is providing their salary their life does not become less precious than my life. It is their duty to protect my life and it is my duty to protect their life. I perform my duty through the government and prime minister of India. I admit that I have failed to perform my duty towards soldiers of my contrary because of breach of trust done by PM Narender Modi. The soldiers of India are also citizen of India and their life is as precious as life of PM Narender Modi. If I could swap life of a soldier with life of PM Narender Modi then I would definitely want one of our soldiers alive in place of PM Narender Modi. I do pay salary to Narender Modi also just like I pay salary to our soldiers.

I wanted to discharge the following duty of mine towards my brave brothers through PM Narender Modi which I failed to do:

1.) It is my responsibility to protect life of soldiers of India. I need to provide all funds and equipment necessary for protecting life of soldiers. I need to provide a leadership which value life of soldiers as equal to tax paying citizen of India. Current government has failed to do that on my behalf.

2.) It is my duty to take care of financial need of our soldiers who are currently serving the nation, the soldiers who have retired after serving the nation and take care of family of soldiers who have martyred while serving the nation. On this point I failed miserably. One rank one pension scheme could not be implemented fully because finance ministry refused to release funds required for its implementation. It is a failure to take care of soldiers retired after serving the nation. Regarding taking care of soldiers martyred while protecting our nation also my record is not good. A martyr's family is paid a fixed compensation and job for a family member. It is not necessary that every martyr's family have a member of employable age. A martyr's family should be paid salary as if the soldier martyred been still in service till his retirement age and after that dependent pension should be provided to wife of the martyr. This is not being done and I am really ashamed of that.

3.) It is responsibility of whole nation to avenge killing of our soldiers just like any of our tax paying citizen. At this point we failed miserably. We have not reacted the way we reacted when few tax paying citizens were killed in Taz hotel in Mumbai. Are life of tax paying citizens more important than life of our brave soldiers? We as a nation need to learn some lessons from USA in this regard. USA people consider life of their soldiers as precious as any other citizen and avenge killing of each soldier killed anywhere in the world. That is why their soldiers feel safe when they go for war and in their homeland. USA doesn’t treat their soldiers’ life as second category as compared to their president.
PM Narender Modi has failed to discharge my duty toward our soldiers on my behalf. He is an egocentric person who does not care for anybody. He has failed to provide respectful compensation to soldiers. He has failed to provide required moral support to soldiers by taking tough stand against the enemy. But instead have demoralized the soldiers by shaking hands with enemy.

Congress party has rightly asked the following five questions to PM Narender Modi. Narender Modi has failed at all five points. I am sorry that I selected such a person for post of PM.

At the press-conference, Sharma posted five questions to Modi. They are as follow:

1.Last year, after the NSA -level talks were cancelled, what was the understanding reached between NSA Ajit Doval and his Pakistan counterpart in Bangkok?

2.The then UPA's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh did not visit Pakistan during his regime because the latter did not honour its promises. What assurances were received by PM Modi which prompted his visit to Lahore?

3.During his sudden visit to Lahore on December 25, the National Security Advisor of Pakistan was conspicuously absent. Was PM Modi doubtful about it?

4.Does PM Modi believe that Pakistani establishment, including their Army and ISI are for the dialogue process? What assured the Prime Minister that the resumption of peace process has the full support and endorsement of entire Pakistani establishment?

5.We sought the Pakistan government to take severe action against 26/11 mastermind and Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Lakhvi. What progress has been made in the case so far?
